Cytopathology is the study of free cells or tissue fragments to determine the cause or the nature of disease, whereas Histopathology involves examining an entire section of tissue, which contains many types of cells. The procedure involves microscopic examination of a biopsy or surgical specimen that is processed and fixed onto glass slides.
Our histopathology department provides a full range of anatomic pathology services along with a wide range of immunohistochemical (IHC) staining. Special areas of expertise include dermatopathology, gastrointestinal, breast, endocrine, renal, and neuropathology including muscle and nerve.
